Fantastic Response. I would add that board texture is critical as well. you’ve probably already seen the Beanstalk Flop Texture video, but it discusses this a bit.

Basically, if the flop texture matches? the range of hands your opponent would reckon you have it’s probably a excellent time for a cbet. Of course, better opponents are capable of floating the flop, so you need to be prepared to fire a second barrel on the turn.

c-bets tend to work best when you’ve found a excellent ‘spot’ to come in for a raise in the first place, i.e. late position to try to pick up the blinds with ‘air’; works best after you’ve shown down a few excellent hands previously? so when you do come in with nothing, you get more respect and more folds. i also like the c-bet as a semi-bluff, or for thin value, so if you do get called, you can choose if you have excellent enough showdown value after the turn card.
